The Ministry of Environment is hosting the Cambodia Climate Change Summit 2022 (CCCS22) together with the Mekong Future Initiative (MFI) in Siem Reap on 17, 18 & 19 October 2022 at the Borei Angkor Resort & Hotel. This event will highlight the progress the Kingdom of Cambodia has made toward climate-related issues and will include expert contributors from a diverse range of stakeholders including the private and public sectors and NGOs. The mission of CCCS22 is to advance the national discourse on climate-related issues in the Kingdom of Cambodia and provide an opportunity for increased coordination among climate change professionals.
The Ministry of Environment (MOE) will be the official event host, providing thought leadership throughout the planning process in partnership with MFI, responsible for CCCS22 partnership campaign and program development. As of September 2022, MFI has confirmed the majority of sponsors and partners that will participate in CCCS22 including but not exclusive to; USAID as Official Partner & Sponsor. Forte Insurance, Heineken, Oxfam Cambodia & Smart Axiata as Sponsors. The American Embassy, The Australian Embassy, The British Embassy, UnOps, EuroCham, BritCham, YEAC, iDE Globe, Sevea Consulting as Partners. The complete list of CCCS22 participants will be confirmed one month before the CCCS22 by September 17th 2022, including the program for The Youth Summit, conducted by a bespoke committee of Cambodia’s leading youth advocates from Impact Hub, RUPP and Cambodia Green Future, and others to be announced.
The overall theme of the conference is Sustainability, including a 20-booth exhibitor’s fair for local Sustainable Solutions & Projects in Cambodia. The underlying theme of the conference is Collaboration; the public sector, private sector and civil society working in concert to develop innovative strategies for dealing with climate change. This includes encouraging national commitments to work within the Paris Agreement framework and developing strategies with industry and civil society partners to rapidly move towards a carbon-neutral future.
The Summit will include topics on; Renewable Energy, Green Finance/Climate Finance, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Environmental Technological Innovations across a wide range of industries such as Agriculture, Transport, Tourism and Commerce with over a dozen sessions. CCCS22 is humbled to have the support of the Ministry of Environment as well as Cambodia’s leading experts and practitioners sharing their insights and initiatives around these themes in a variety of formats including presentations, discussions, forums, demonstrations, panel/round table talks and much more.
